What? There's a debit machine in my house? What? Yup!
Gorp is officially able to accept payment over the phone, online, and in person! Visa, Mastercard, even Debit? What? I know. .. .I can hardly believe this day has come. . .and I bet the bank is even gladder;) Apparently they like to get paid back? What the what? Was that in the contract? Heh Heh. .. just kidding, no phone calls!
To those of you who signed up for the Gorp Challenge, stay tuned. . I'll be unveiling the official plan in about a week:) Until then. . .do some pushups and start eating clean;) That's what I'll be doing at Folk Fest all week. . .I promise. . .poutine will only be consumed once per day, and only after midnight. . .you know, so it doesn't "count". . .yay. . .kidding again:)
The challenge of the month for me seems to be deciding if I'm going to blast these bars out my back door by myself (and make a decent margin) or hook up with a distributor right away and get some volume going. . .my thought is that if I hook up with a distributor too soon (before I know all the hidden pitfalls and problems/$$$ I'm going to run into) then I could be setting myself up for disaster, and be legally sewn into a contract to boot. . ..this is new territory for me and I'm going slow and feeling very green:(
Today 100 bars went out the door on their way to the North American Agricultural Marketing Officials conference being held next week. I'm actually going to be speaking at the conference. . ..maybe I can sidle up beside one or two of the conference goers and get some marketing tips:) Tonight another 150 bars are being picked up for the athletes participating in the Morden Triathlon, which makes me very happy as I have a love affair with triathlon in general!
As for right now. . .I should be writing my speech. . but little ones are calling and apparently it's 5:39 and I haven't packed for Folk Fest or made supper? Whoops!
